Worship Arts
  • Giving thanks and singing.
  • Telling and making known.
  • Rejoicing and praising.
  • Remembering and sacrificing.

Each of these actions is a part of worshiping God. The word worship derives from “worth-ship”; literally, it means to recognize and respect the value of something, to acknowledge or honor its true worth. Worship is our response to God as He reveals the truth of who He is - His power, goodness, holiness, and mercy. In worship we echo God’s glory - His beauty, brightness, greatness - back to Him and to one another and the world around us, like a mirror reflecting a light (2 Corinthians 4:6). Worship is not something we initiate; it is the heart’s reply to God’s self-disclosure through the person of Jesus. God reveals and we respond.

The Bible makes clear that worshiping God is not a matter of ceremony, habit, or ritual, but of whole life change. True worshipers, Jesus explained, worship God “in spirit and truth” (John 4:23). As God’s truth penetrates our spirits, we are changed and respond with lives that continually glorify Him (Romans 12:1). While this response is deeply personal, and happens on a day to day level as well as on Sunday mornings, worship is not solely a private matter between me and God. It doesn't happen in isolation. Instead we are called to come together to seek the Lord corporately, encourage each another, and remind ourselves of what is true about Him and us (Psalm 149:1; Hebrews 10:25; Ephesians 5:19-20).

The Sunday morning Gathering at PCC is designed to help each of us do just that - to connect with our Creator in spirit and truth, and engage in the practice of worship in a meaningful way. Facilitating corporate worship is the responsibility of the Worship Arts Ministry, which exists to unleash the power of the creative arts to bring glory to God and encouragement to the church. The Worship Arts Ministry includes Production Teams that oversee areas including:

Adult Choir

No audition necessary. The Adult Choir is an exciting group of men and women that once a month help lead the 9:30a and 11:00a Sunday services September through May. For more information, contact Tina Jackson, the church office for more details, or simply check us out any Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m.

Seasonal Events

No audition necessary. If you are interested in participating in either the Christmas or Easter programs then contact Daniel Read for more details. Make sure to sign up well in advance as we usually start planning 6 months ahead of time!

Worship Teams

Our worship teams are small ensembles that help to lead our 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services in worship. If you are interested in serving through your gifting, contact Daniel Read at 513.231.9482 ext. 4723. Auditions happen each year in January.

Rhythm Section and Brass

We are looking for pianists, guitarists, bass players, drummers and horns for our worship services. All skill levels are represented and encouraged to participate. Instrumentalists please contact Daniel Read at 513.231.9482 ext. 4723. Auditions happen each year in January.

Ensembles/Special Music

There are many opportunities for solos, duets, trios, quartets and larger groups in both vocal and instrumental ensembles. We also have special groups that play periodically around Christmas season and throughout the summer for festivals. No superstars allowed - only servants. For more information contact Daniel Read.

Dance Ministry

While we do not regularly have a group that meets, we would love to have this part of Worship Arts Ministry blossom. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Daniel Read.

Media Ministries

Audio, lighting, and video shooting, editing, and projection are crucial to each of our services and special productions. Persons interested in this area of ministry are put on a track of mentoring with one of our current engineers. We have positions for those with no experience, for highly skilled engineers, and for everyone in between. For more information, contact Paul Streffon or the church office for more details.

Set Design/Stage Design

If you have talent in set building or stage design or you would like to be involved with our dream team, contact Daniel Read.

Whether you have experience or an ability to share in one of these areas, or you’re simply looking for a place to serve, there is a place for you in the Worship Arts community.
