FAQ

Checking out a new church is always a little scary. At Parkside, we want to help you feel at home as soon as you pull into our drive (or log onto our website), even if you’ve never been to a church before. We’re just ordinary people who love Jesus and want to show his love to you as well. Here are some answers to the questions you’re probably asking…

Where is your campus?

6986 Salem Rd. – just east of Beech Acres Park in Anderson Township.

What time does it start?

We have 2 worship services for you to choose from. Both of them last a little more than an hour. They start at 9:30am or 11:00am. A variety of adult & children’s classes meet at the same times.

Which door should I go in?

Our parking extends around the entire building, so it depends on where you park. There are parking spots reserved for guests near the canopy entrance (Door 3) off of Salem Rd. Otherwise, parking attendants will help you find the best spots and even offer to drop you at the door with a golf cart. For those with disabilities, we recommend the canopy entrance  (Door 3) out front. No matter which door you enter, a host will be there to take you where you need to go or answer any questions.

Does it matter what I wear?

Not at all – as long as you wear something! You’ll see people wearing a little of everything here. Come as you are.

What should I expect when I get there?

Parkside has a warm, casual atmosphere. Come early enough to grab a free cup of coffee or to get your kids settled in their classrooms (security registration required). Our building is a little confusing, so we have parking attendants and hosts to show you the way. Don’t hesitate to ask for help at the Welcome Center under the flags in the lobby. Since we have guests every Sunday, you won’t stand out. There are people of all styles and ages at Parkside who just enjoy being together. We want you to feel welcomed without feeling any pressure or obligation.

What happens with my kids?

Parkside offers fully graded children’s classes during 9:30 and 11:00 am adult worship. Parents are always welcome to have their children with them in worship, but most kids can’t wait to worship and learn in their own age-appropriate ways. The entire lower level of our facility is dedicated to children’s ministry. We have a detailed security policy to screen every volunteer and to ensure the protection of every child. We also promise to love your children the way Jesus would. For more about our children’s ministry… click here!

What will the worship service be like?

We worship in a gym, if that tells you anything. The seats are comfortable. The lights are often down low. The music is upbeat and led by a band. Each week is uniquely designed around a theme, but you can expect similar creative elements like music, prayer, video images, drama, object lessons, etc. The teaching is always Bible-based, relevant, encouraging and down-to-earth.

What if I can’t sing or don’t know the songs?

We sing songs that contain Scripture or expressions of worship to God. Most people catch on quickly and enjoy the passion or energy music brings to their worship whether they’re a good singer or not. If you don’t want to sing, just listen and allow the message of the music to penetrate your heart.

Can I take communion?

We offer communion every week and any believer who would like to remember Jesus in this special way is welcome to participate.

Will I be asked to give money?

We take up a weekly offering because it honors God and sustains Parkside’s ministry. There is never any pressure to give and we don’t expect our guests to give. God has always provided for Parkside through the generosity of grateful people.
